Honor defines a true man! In a world that increasingly celebrates compromise and moral relativism, SHIELD of VALOR stands as a beacon for Christian men, fathers, and young men to live with unwavering integrity. As we prepare to launch this transformative movement in 2026, we call on men to rise up and embody the biblical principle of honor—a core pillar of our program—rooted in the timeless example of Joseph in Genesis and the unchanging truth of God’s Word.

Joseph’s life in Genesis 37-50 is a powerful testament to what it means to live with honor. At a young age, Joseph faced a defining moment that tested his integrity. While serving as a slave in Potiphar’s house in Egypt, he caught the eye of Potiphar’s wife, who repeatedly tempted him to commit adultery with her (Genesis 39:7). Joseph, a young man far from home with no one to hold him accountable, could have easily given in. After all, succumbing to her advances might have secured his position or brought temporary pleasure. But Joseph’s response was resolute: “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:9). He chose prison over sin, honoring God above all, even at great personal cost. Falsely accused and thrown into jail (Genesis 39:19-20), Joseph’s integrity paved the way for God’s greater purpose—eventually rising to become second-in-command of Egypt, saving nations during a famine (Genesis 41:41-43).

At SHIELD of VALOR, we believe that honor is the foundation of godly manhood. The program, built on the principles of Strength, Honor, Inspiration, Endurance, Leadership, Devotion of Vision, Action, Loyalty, Overcoming, Redemption, equips men to live with integrity in a culture that often celebrates compromise. Honor, the second pillar of SHIELD of VALOR, is about choosing what is right over what is easy, standing firm in faith even when the world pressures us to bend. Psalm 119:11 declares, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” This verse captures the essence of honor—rooting ourselves in God’s Word so deeply that it guides our every decision, even in the face of temptation.

Living with integrity means aligning our actions with our faith, even when no one is watching. In today’s world, compromise is celebrated as pragmatism. Men are encouraged to cut corners, chase fleeting pleasures, or conform to cultural norms that contradict God’s truth. Social media glorifies shallow definitions of success—wealth, status, and indulgence—while dismissing the quiet, steadfast honor of a man who stands for righteousness. But as men of valor, we are called to a higher standard. Proverbs 10:9 reminds us, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Integrity brings security, peace, and the favor of God, while compromise leads to destruction.

Joseph’s choice to honor God over his own comfort or safety set him apart. Even in prison, his integrity shone through—he served others faithfully, interpreting dreams for fellow prisoners (Genesis 40:6-8). God honored Joseph’s honor, eventually elevating him to a position of immense influence, where he saved his family and countless others (Genesis 50:20-21). This is the kind of honor SHIELD of VALOR seeks to cultivate in every man and boy: a commitment to righteousness that withstands temptation, a heart anchored in God’s Word, and a life that reflects Christ’s character.

In SHIELD of VALOR, we equip men to live with integrity through practical, faith-filled training.
